A Step-by-Step Decongesting Facial Protocol with HydroDiamond and LED

A Step-by-Step Decongesting Facial Protocol with HydroDiamond and LED

One session — and this 25-year-old client's skin looked clearer, smoother to the touch, and visibly fresher.

The client came in with congested skin: closed, non-inflamed breakouts and an uneven surface texture. Yuliya Koval, Licensed Esthetician, built the protocol around the skin's condition, combining several technologies in a purposeful sequence.

Meet Yuliya Koval, Licensed Esthetician

This protocol was performed by Yuliya Koval — a Licensed Esthetician and founder of Skin Story Studio on the Upper East Side in New York. Her work blends a holistic approach with high-tech treatments across laser and facial protocols. Yuliya is also a Zemits brand ambassador, content creator, and esthetician coach.

Client: 25 years old

Main concern: congested skin, non-inflamed breakouts

Visible signs: uneven texture, enlarged pores in the T-zone, dull tone

Sessions: 1

Protocol goal: soften and lift surface buildup, gently clear the pores, and restore visible brightness to the skin

What the Skin Was Showing

Closed comedones without visible inflammation

Sebum and dead skin cells accumulate inside the follicle, forming dense contents just beneath the surface.

Uneven surface texture

A surface layer of dry corneocytes, closed comedones, and sebum makes the texture feel rougher and disrupts even light reflection — so the skin looks less smooth and duller

An overloaded T-zone

The nose and chin have higher sebaceous activity, so this is where the congestion was most pronounced

Yuliya built the protocol in the following sequence:

1. Double Cleansing

What was done: the first step — Epicutis® Oil Cleanser, followed by GlyMed Plus Glycolic Facial Cleanser.

Why: the oil phase dissolves sebum, SPF, and makeup residue. The glycolic cleanser that follows gently loosens dry surface buildup.

What happened in the skin: the stratum corneum was freed of its surface film, and the glycolic acid began softening the bonds between dry corneocytes — leaving the skin better prepared for the next steps.

2. Oxygen Deep Pore Masque

What was done: GlyMed Plus Oxygen Deep Pore Masque was applied to the cleansed skin.

Why: this gives the skin a preparation phase and creates an evenly softened surface for the handpiece work ahead.

What happened in the skin: surface buildup became more pliable, so the next step went more evenly and comfortably.

3. HydroDiamond® Treatment

What was done: this step was performed using the HydroDiamond® modality on the Zemits DermeLuxx PRO together with Serum with Salicylic Acid — Zemits SalicPure Pro.

Why: mechanical surface renewal and pore work happen at the same time.

What happened in the skin: the diamond tip lifted away a layer of dry corneocytes and smoothed the surface texture, while the vacuum picked up softened sebum and remaining buildup. Working alongside it, the Serum with Salicylic Acid helped loosen the contents of the pores, while the Aloe Vera, Ginger, and Turmeric extracts in SalicPure Pro supported skin comfort during the active phase — the surface looked calmer, with no feeling of tightness.

4. Vacuum Extractions

What was done: vacuum extractions on the nose and chin using the Hydro Extraction tip on the Zemits DermeLuxx PRO, continuing with Zemits SalicPure Pro serum.

Why: after HydroDiamond®, the pore contents are already softened, so extraction is gentle — with no aggressive pressure on the skin.

What happened in the skin: the vacuum collected softened sebum and remaining debris from the most congested zones.

5. Circadia Snow Algae & Spirulina Cooling Mask + LED

What was done: Circadia Snow Algae & Spirulina Cooling Mask was applied to the skin, with an LED session performed over it using the Zemits VivaLumix.

Why: the gel texture cools and hydrates the surface, while LED adds light-based support without any mechanical load.

What happened in the skin: LED support works through photobiomodulation logic — light interacts with light-sensitive structures in the epidermis, supporting a calmer, more even-looking appearance.

6. Finishing Layers

What was done: Face Reality Sal-C Toner → PCA SKIN Hyaluronic Acid Boosting Serum → Hyvia Crème by Epicutis → SPF.

Why: to support a cleaner-looking pore appearance and restore hydration and comfort to the surface.

What happened in the skin: the hydrating layers created a supportive film over the renewed stratum corneum, helping reduce moisture loss and lock in a smooth, replenished look.

The result came from the way each step prepared the next. Cleansing and the masque softened the surface — so HydroDiamond® worked evenly and comfortably. Exfoliation loosened the pore contents — so the extractions went gently. And the mask + LED phase brought the skin to a calm, even finish.

Visible Result After One Session

After the session, the skin appeared:

  • clearer in the T-zone
  • smoother in texture
  • fresher and more radiant
  • calm, with no visible reactivity
  • hydrated, with a replenished finish

For a spa menu, this approach can be positioned as:

Congested Skin Reset

Deep Clean Glow Facial

Clear Skin Prep Facial

Monthly Pore Maintenance

Clients no longer see it as "just an extraction facial" — it becomes a thoughtful protocol with a clear goal and a defined sequence of steps. That makes the treatment a natural part of a regular skincare routine rather than a one-time visit.
