Fresh, Moisture-Plumped Skin in One Session: A Hydrating Protocol with Zemits ColdRestore Facial

Fresh, Moisture-Plumped Skin in One Session: A Hydrating Protocol with Zemits ColdRestore Facial

One treatment — and this client's forehead lines looked visibly softer, while her skin looked fresh and plumped with moisture.

The client came in with a concern about fine lines, so Karyn Purcell, Licensed Esthetician, built the protocol around step-by-step hydration finished with cold therapy.

Meet Karyn Purcell, Licensed Esthetician

This protocol was performed by Karyn Purcell — a Licensed Esthetician and owner of The Florida Facialist (Florida, USA). Karyn is a solo practitioner who specializes in customized corrective skincare.

Her approach: skin analysis and a personalized home care plan matter just as much as the in-spa treatment itself. Karyn believes skincare is healthcare, and she builds every protocol to be simple and effective.

Client: female

Main concern: fine lines

Visible signs: forehead lines, dry-looking surface

Sessions: 1

Protocol goal: moisture-plumped, smooth-looking skin with a softer look of fine lines

Visible result: noticeable improvement in the skin's appearance

What the Skin Was Showing

Dehydrated surface

A lack of moisture in the stratum corneum makes the skin look less plump, which causes fine lines to appear more pronounced

Buildup of dry corneocytes

A surface layer of dead skin cells accentuates uneven texture and makes wrinkles more noticeable.

Karyn built the protocol in the following sequence:

1. Double Cleanse with Gentle Exfoliation

What was done: a double cleanse with a gentle cleanser mixed with a delicate exfoliant. Why: to remove surface impurities and dry cells without irritating the skin. What happens in the skin: gentle exfoliation helps smooth the surface micro-texture and prepares the skin for a more even application of the hydrating formulas that follow.

2. Hydrating Serum

What was done: a hydrating serum was applied to the cleansed skin. Why: to pre-hydrate the skin and prepare it for the cold therapy step that follows. What happens in the skin: the serum spreads across the prepared stratum corneum, giving the surface a plump, fresh look.

3. Cold Therapy

What was done: a generous layer of Zemits FirmingGenius PRO Conductive Gel with Peptides was applied over the serum, followed by slow, continuous passes with the Zemits ColdRestore Facial applicator across the face. Why: to ensure even cooling contact, tone the skin, and "seal in" the hydrating layers with a feeling of freshness. What happens in the skin: the aloe vera–based Conductive Gel with glycerin and peptides creates a smooth gliding surface while keeping the serum layer in contact with the skin. The cool applicator glides over the gel, delivering a pronounced feeling of freshness: the skin looks firmer, toned, with a reduced look of puffiness, and the hydrated areas look visibly plumper.

4. Massage

What was done: a manual facial massage. Why: to add a relaxation step and gently close out the active part of the treatment. What happens in the skin: gentle movements over the hydrated surface support a rested, refreshed look.

5. Finishing Hydration

What was done: a final layer of hydration. Why: to close the protocol and lock moisture into the skin. What happens in the skin: the finishing products form a supportive layer over the stratum corneum, reduce moisture loss, and leave a soft finish that looks and feels plump.

This is a layered hydration protocol: each step held and built on the one before it. Gentle exfoliation prepared the surface for the serum, cold therapy added a feeling of freshness and tone, and the finishing products completed the protocol.

Visible Result After 1 Treatment

After one session, the skin looked:

  • visibly smoother in the forehead area
  • plumped with moisture
  • fresher and more rested
  • softer in texture

Home Care

The client was set up with a hydrating home care routine: a gentle cleanser, a hydrating serum, a lightweight moisturizer, a hydrating gel, and SPF 30 daily, plus an enzyme hydrating mask.

This treatment format can be positioned on a spa menu as:
