How to Build a HydroDiamond Protocol for Congested Pores
The client came in with congested pores and non-inflamed breakouts. Yuliya Koval, Licensed Esthetician, built the protocol around her skin condition and treatment goals, combining several technologies in a purposeful sequence.

One session — and this client's skin looked smoother, clearer in the nose area, and more even in how it reflected light.
Meet Yuliya Koval,
Licensed Esthetician
This protocol was performed by Yuliya Koval — a Licensed Esthetician and founder of Skin Story Studio on the Upper East Side in New York. Her work blends a holistic approach with high-tech treatments across laser and facial protocols. Yuliya is also a Zemits brand ambassador, content creator, and esthetician coach.

In areas with more active sebum production, pore contents can build up faster, which makes the pores look fuller and more noticeable.

Client: female, 21
Main concern: congested pores, non-inflamed breakouts
Visible signs: noticeable pores in the nose area, uneven surface texture
Number of sessions: 1
Protocol goal: clear the pores and even out the surface while keeping the skin comfortable
Surface Buildup
Dry cells and other surface residue can further emphasize texture and make congested areas read as more pronounced.

Buildup of Keratinized Cells
When corneocytes shed unevenly, they can mix with sebum and contribute to non-inflamed comedones and small surface irregularities.
Excess Sebum
Skin Concerns & Treatment Goals
What Can Cause Congested Pores?
Protocol Logic:
How Each Step Built the Result
Step 3. Dermaplaning
Step 2. Toner Prep
Step 1. Double Cleanse
What was done: A HydroDiamond® treatment performed on the Zemits DermeLuxx PRO with a diamond tip, paired with the Serum with Salicylic Acid — Zemits SalicPure PRO.
Why: To even out the skin surface and support the work on congested pores at the same time.
What happened in the skin: The diamond tip provides controlled mechanical exfoliation of the stratum corneum, while the vacuum simultaneously helps draw away spent solution and removed surface particles. The SalicPure PRO formula works on the surface in parallel:
  • Salicylic acid helps soften compacted buildup in the pores.
  • Aloe supports barrier comfort right after the mechanical stage.
  • Ginger and turmeric extracts are botanical antioxidants that support a fresher-looking complexion after surface renewal.

Step 4. HydroDiamond® Treatment
What was done: Dermaplaning across the full face.
Why: To create a smoother, more uniform surface before the next stages.
What happened in the skin: Dermaplaning removes surface corneocytes and vellus hair, so the formulas that follow can distribute more evenly across the skin.

What was done: Toning with Face Reality Sal-C Toner.
Why: To complete the cleansing stage and prepare the surface for dermaplaning.
What happened in the skin: The toner removes cleanser residue and evens out the surface of the stratum corneum.
What was done: A two-step cleanse — Circadia Vitamin Veil Cleansing Oil, followed by Face Reality Ultra Gentle Gel Cleanser.
Why: To remove makeup, SPF, sebum, and surface debris.
What happened in the skin: The oil cleanser helps dissolve sebum, SPF, and makeup, while the second cleanser removes remaining surface debris, preparing the skin for the steps that follow.

Step 8. Barrier Support
What was done: Epicutis HYVIA® Crème was applied as the final care step.
Why: To close the protocol with comfortable, hydrating care.
What happened: The crème creates a protective layer that helps maintain skin comfort after the active stages of the protocol.

Step 6. Serum Infusion
What was done: Infusion of the Serum with Glycolic Acid (Zemits LuminOxy PRO) using the Oxygen Infusion Sprayer modality on the Zemits DermeLuxx PRO.
Why: To support a more hydrated-looking, fresh result through oxygen-assisted serum infusion.
What happened in the skin: The Oxygen Infusion Sprayer applies the LuminOxy PRO serum evenly as a fine mist, and the formula itself supports the result in several ways at once:
  • Glycolic acid supports gentle surface renewal and a smoother-looking texture.
  • Hyaluronic acid attracts and holds water at the surface, so the skin looks more plump.
  • Peptides support the look of firmer, smoother skin.
Step 5. Hydro Extraction — Nose Area
What was done: Vacuum extraction in the nose area using the HydroDiamond® modality with the Hydro Extraction tip on the Zemits DermeLuxx PRO, paired with the Serum with Salicylic Acid — Zemits SalicPure PRO.
Why: The nose area required additional targeted attention following the overall surface renewal.
What happened in the skin: Hydro Extraction uses controlled vacuum for targeted work on the congested-looking nose area. Paired with SalicPure PRO, it helps remove surface debris and accumulated contents from accessible follicular openings, so the area looks cleaner and more even after extraction.
Step 7. Mandelic Serum
What was done: Face Reality 5% Mandelic Serum was applied.
Why: To support the work on texture and congested-looking pores as part of the finishing care.
What happened: The formula supported a smoother-looking texture and a cleaner look to the pores.
Visible Result After One Session
  • fresher
  • cleaner in the nose area
  • more hydrated-looking
After one session, the skin looked:
